Winter protocol
Team Best Golf also strives to ensure that the summer greens are available as much as possible during the winter, and even that the course is in qualifying condition. However, winter weather conditions can impact the course, for example, limiting play or even closing it. We're happy to explain this in the winter protocol below.
Course Status
This is, of course, prominently displayed on the Best Golf homepage for all golfers, and also specifically for members on the Golf Dashboard. The course status is updated daily, starting no later than 8:30 AM. Course status may change during the morning/day, depending on changing weather conditions.
Always check the course status on our website before leaving home during the winter months.
NOTE: Greenkeeping can only determine the course status when there is sufficient daylight. For the earliest tee times, the course status may still change after you have left home.
Limiting Weather Conditions
Flooding
In the event of excessive flooding, such as heavy or prolonged rainfall, winter greens may be necessary to protect the greens from damage caused by walking. For example, in the event of snowmelt, the course may even be closed completely.
Hoar Frost
In the event of hoarfrost on the greens, the winter greens will be (temporarily) in use.
During night frost, there is a good chance that the winter greens will remain in use all day;
Trolleys are not permitted in this case.
Handcarts are not permitted in this case.
Persistent frost (without hoar frost)
Winter greens are in use all day; Trolleys are permitted in this case; Handcarts are also permitted in this case.
Snow
The course will be closed during snowfall. The course will also be closed during thawing after snowfall.
Thaw
The course will be closed until the frost has completely disappeared from the ground;
Trolleys are not permitted;
Handcarts are not permitted.
Thunderstorms
During thunderstorms, the course will be (temporarily) closed. If a thunderstorm is imminent, golfers will receive an additional warning by the 'slow woop' siren sounded by Best Golf. However, golfers are always responsible for their own safety.
Fog
If visibility is less than 150 meters, the course will be closed. The course will only reopen when visibility on the entire course is greater than 150 meters. This will be determined by the greenkeeping staff. In the absence of the greenkeeping staff, the marshal on duty will determine this.
Course Adjustments / Technical Play
Use of 'Winter Tee Boxes':
The tee markers are in the same location. These locations are cleared. These cleared areas will then be reseeded in the spring. Reason: it is better to have one cleared area per teeing ground than to have to remediate the entire teeing ground in the spring.
Flags in their winter positions:
Our flags are also on the greens during the winter period! Unless there is frost/frost on the ground or the surface is too wet. In that case, the flags are on the winter greens (in front of the regular green). The course is not qualifying in this case. Pick up your ball within one club length of this winter cup! The flags can be replaced by the greenkeepers during the day, up to 1:00 PM at the latest.
Please note: this can also happen during a competition.
Handicarts only via the winter route:
In case of frost/frost or too wet ground, handicarts are prohibited on the course. If there is no frost/frost on the ground or the surface is too wet, you may use the winter route (fairways and rough PROHIBITED!). You will receive this winter route at reception. Each handicart is also "controlled" by the GPS system, with the necessary restrictions on freedom of movement. The display inside, at the top of the windshield, provides instructions for the route to follow.

9-hole green fee € 35.00
